![]() News & eventsBioethanol plant in Argentina11 November 2011 AGD (Aceitera General Deheza) of Argentina and global player Bunge, two renowned agribusiness groups, have teamed up for a bioethanol project in Argentina and selected VOGELBUSCH technology for their grassroots facility. The new joint venture, ProMaíz S. A., is to be located in Alejandro Roca, Córdoba province. As its name implies, the plant will process corn which is abundant in Argentina. The country currently exports 60% (14 million tons) of its corn production and is the world's second largest exporter behind the United States. The facility will require 0.35 million tons of corn annually. The plant has a nameplate capacity of 420,000 liters of bioethanol per day and is projected for startup in early 2013. Bioethanol and byproducts produced by the facility will be marketed in local markets. In Argentina, gasoline must contain 5% ethanol (E5). VOGELBUSCH will provide process design, detailed engineering, procurement assistance, and supervision of erection and start-up of the plant. Vogelbusch USA to Provide Distillation and Dehydration System to INEOS Bio27 October 2011 Vogelbusch USA has been awarded a contract to supply the ethanol distillation and dehydration equipment for INEOS Bio’s first-of-its-kind waste-to-bioenergy facility near Vero Beach, Florida. Operations are on schedule to start in the 2nd Quarter of 2012. The project will use INEOS Bio’s feedstock-flexible biomass conversion technology. It's unique combination of gasification and fermentation technologies turns different types of waste materials, including municipal solid waste, into advanced biofuels and renewable power. See Projects Vogelbusch - 90 Years hooked on biotechMay 2011 It was around May 1921, that German-born Wilhelm Vogelbusch set himself up in Vienna as, in his own words, "a technical consultant for apparatus engineering, ethyl alcohol and compressed yeast". This date marks the beginning of today's VOGELBUSCH group of companies. Along with the emerging biotechnology industry, VOGELBUSCH took up the challenge of highly complex engineering for applications in the food, chemical, fuel and pharmaceutical industry, for meanwhile 90 years.
