![]() Pilot scale facilitiesSingle-column SMB chromatographic separatorOur novel SMB chromatography process, featuring a single column in which a continuous flow of fluid is kept in circulation, has once again placed Vogelbusch at the forefront of technological innovation. (See eSMB process) The pilot plant is used to test raw materials and new applications for the separation of the components of a solution. Applications include sugars, organic acids and pharmaceutical products. Molecular sieve adsorption unitOur pilot scale equipment includes a test unit for the measurement of adsorption processes based on continuous binary vapour flows. The plant is used to investigate the adsorptive properties of molecular sieves (zeolites). Determining the materials’ physical properties lays the groundwork for plant design. The quality of the zeolites is assured by running quick, standardised tests, before charging the molecular sieve containers on site. Vogelbusch USA operates a pilot plant for trials that mimic industrial conditions. Pilot fermentationIn our bubble column test station both feedstocks and micro-organisms are tested for their suitability in submerged fermentation to validate process design data. The same system is employed in the laboratories of industrial citric acid production sites. It can also be supplied for individual purposes. (Download Fact Sheet)
