Glucose technology
Versatile glucose plants
Another proprietary development from Vogelbusch is a modern glucose production process. This is capable of producing dextrose in the form of:
- Pharmaceutical grade anhydrate or monohydrate crystals;
- Glucose solution for food and beverages.
The two-stage enzymatic starch conversion process achieves high yields. The glucose solution is purified by means of adsorption, filtration and ion exchange, and is then concentrated, crystallised and dried using energy efficient processes.
Pyrogen free product
The end product is pyrogen free, and conforms to the strictest pharmaceutical quality standards (BP, USP, etc.)
Glucose (also known as dextrose) has a wide range of applications in the food processing industry. It is also employed as a base material for fermentation processes, and has medical uses.
Glucose is a starch sugar. It is usually produced from maize starch, but can also be made from other types of starch.
