HFS Evaporation

HFS High fructose syrup technology

Novel chromatography process

Our HFS production technology is an innovative chromatography process based on the simulated moving bed (SMB) principle. Its special feature is the use of a single column to enrich the fructose.

The energy saving Vogelbusch evaporator is used to concentrate the syrup. The optimum purification process (membrane, filtration or activated charcoal) is selected to meet the client’s requirements.

Input materials are tested for suitability at our pilot scale facility.

Top product quality

As with all Vogelbusch technologies, our goal is top product quality. The end product meets the highest purity standards, including HFS90 grade (at least 90% fructose content in the dry matter substance).

HFS starch sugar is an enriched fructose syrup. The food and beverage industries use it as a sweetening substitute for sugar. HFS is mainly produced from maize starch, but can also be derived from wheat or cassava starch.
