Combined production of neutral alcohol and bioethanol

Extra neutral alcohol (ENA), also called grain neutral spirit (GNS), is a major basic substance in the beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. An Annex Distillery can be integrated into a bioethanol facility to open the way for a new product range.

We customize our design solutions to optimize the process economics for combined production. Our Annex Distillery concept ensures the high quality required for extra neutral alcohol without compromising the energy saving features that Vogelbusch designs are known for. 

Alcoholic mash from the existing fermentation (optionally raw alcohol from the mash column) is distilled and rectified in the Annex Distillery for highest purity and organoleptic quality standards. A specificity of combined production is that the draws from neutral alcohol can be utilized in the bioethanol process, thus increasing the yield of the parallel system. Stillage processing is carried out jointly for both products in the existing facilities.
