The Promaíz plant produces bioethanol from corn which is used as fuel additive in the local markets. Besides the technology package for the complete plant and detailed planning of piping and vessels, Vogelbusch has been assigned with the supply of equipment such as fermenter internals, distillation columns, molecular sieve dehydration and scrubber, as well as the programming of the control system.
This plant was implemented in 2013 with a nameplate capacity of 420,000 liters per day, which was increased to 550,000 liters per day in 2018.
In 2019, an Annex Distillery with a production capacity of 100,000 liters per day was integrated into the facility to increase the capacity. This process group consists of a distillation and rectification unit which processes mash from the existing MultiCont© fermentation.
In 2023, another revamping phase commenced. This time Promaiz aims to increase its total production capacity to 800m³/day. In addition to revamping efforts in the upstream section for capacity enhancement includes the design and supply of most of equipment for a new D|R|D system and evaporation unit with a capacity of 200 m³/day.
The official start-up of the new production line was in January 2026. Although the past few weeks and months have been intense and challenging for everyone involved in this project, it has once again proven to be a fruitful collaboration between the two companies. VOGELBUSCH‘s dedicated team has been working tirelessly and has achieved this remarkable success through its close collaboration with Promaiz and their on-site team saying „This once again demonstrates that teamwork is fundamental to achieving our goals.“
